Job description for Bus Driver

Location: ALMERE

What does day-to-day work as a bus driver look like?

In Almere, we provide urban transport. Many times we also provide scheduled services from Almere to Amsterdam. You drive in a large area, where you see the most beautiful landscapes of the province every day. This is of course easy, with our comfortable buses with navigation system.

Your responsibilities

  • As a bus driver you are responsible for “your” bus. The passengers are your customers and you will make sure that they reach their destination on time, safely and comfortably;
  • We schedule your shifts well in advance. So you know exactly when you will be behind the wheel and at what times. You know a year in advance when you’ll be free from work, and what time you’ll start or end your shift;
  • As a bus driver, you care about “self-evidently good service”, which leads to “obviously” good public transport. That’s what matters to the passenger, and that’s what we at Keolis do unusually well;
  • By that we mean that as a bus driver you are responsible for getting passengers from point A to point B safely and comfortably. The passengers are your customers and you are their host or hostess.

You are a perfect match on our vacancy for Bus Driver if:

  • Valid D driving licence;
  • Valid Code 95. Not valid? Then we’ll help you get it off;
  • You can produce a Certificate of Good Conduct;
  • You are willing to work rotating shifts (morning/afternoon/evening/weekends);
  • Good command of the English language;
  • Have a Greek ID card or European passport (Greek ID card must have been issued within the last 5 years and be free of any deterioration).

What we offer

  • A good salary appropriate to your experience based on the scale in Collective Labor Agreement OV. €2,644 – €3,616;
  • Urregularity bonus €450 to €500 per month;
  • Diploma allowance of €54.26 per month;
  • A contract for one year. If both parties like it, you will receive a permanent contract after one year.
  • Commuting allowance;
  • Year-end bonus (€400 + 1.15% of your annual salary (gross));
  • 40 minutes paid break;
  • Minimum 23 to 29 vacation days (depending on age);
  • 17 to 26 ATV days;
  • Good pension plan and vacation allowance.

We provide you with a home as close to work as possible. We offer a private room in a house together with your colleagues. The cost for the rent is around €200 per week and includes water, electricity, natural gas and internet.

  • We take care of the transportation by finding a car for you (either personal or shared with roommates);
  • Covered travel costs to and from work (fuel card);
  • We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your new home;
  • We will get you your Dutch healthcare insurance and tax number;
  • The respective employment contract, signed one day before your departure for the Netherlands (it is in English).
