As a Shift Manager, you are responsible for leading a production team and ensuring that safety, quality, efficiency and productivity remain central. You are visibly present on the shop floor, take responsibility and know how to coach and develop employees. Thanks to your leadership, production runs according to plan and targets are achieved.

For this position, we are looking for an experienced Shift Manager with proven leadership qualities: someone who is confident making decisions, maintains a clear overview and continuously looks for improvements within the production process.

Your responsibilities

As a Shift Manager, you are operationally responsible for one or more production departments. You ensure that employees can perform at their best and that production runs safely, efficiently and according to plan.

Your duties include:

• Leading, supporting and motivating a team of employees.
• Taking responsibility for the results of your shift.
• Safeguarding safety, quality, hygiene, technical performance and productivity.
• Achieving the production schedule and making adjustments where necessary.
• Monitoring the department’s progress and performance.
• Setting priorities for technical work and breakdowns.
• Analyzing production problems and complaints and initiating improvement measures.
• Coaching, training and developing employees on the shop floor.
• Ensuring a smooth handover between different shifts.
• Creating and improving work instructions and procedures.
• Applying improvement methodologies such as Lean, 5S, PDCA and 5xW.
• Identifying opportunities to further optimize processes.
• Leading by example through active presence on the shop floor.

As a Shift Manager, you are the connecting link between employees, production and management. You know how to motivate people and ensure that every shift functions optimally.

We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager who is confident, resilient and has excellent leadership qualities.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in a production environment in a comparable leadership position.
• Demonstrable experience leading, coaching and developing employees.
• Knowledge of improvement methodologies such as Lean, 5S, PDCA and 5xW.
• Experience in the food industry is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of HACCP, Food Defense and safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• A results-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset.
• The ability to adapt quickly and set priorities.
• A natural leadership style that motivates and inspires people.
• Willingness to work in a 3-shift system.
• A good command of English, with good English skills being important.

You are a leader who does not manage from the sidelines, but is actively involved in operations. You maintain a clear overview, take responsibility and know how to bring a team along through changes and improvements.

• A full-time position of 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
• A gross monthly salary between €3,575 and €4,081, depending on experience.

We provide you with a home as close to work as possible. We offer a private room in a house together with your colleagues. The cost for the rent is around €200-210 per week and includes water, electricity, natural gas and internet.

• We take care of the transportation by finding a car for you (either personal or shared with roommates);
• Covered travel costs to and from work (fuel card).
• We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your new home;
• We will get you your Dutch healthcare insurance and tax number;
• The respective employment contract, signed one day before your departure for the Netherlands (it is in English).
